About the Competition

Students must watch the Show Racism the Red Card DVD prior to production of work. The teacher must confirm they have SRTRC pack in the school. If you do not have it, you can register and order the pack for €10 through our website. The DVD is also available to watch on youtube and on www.theredcard.ie

After watching the DVD, students are asked to produce written, visual pieces or audio-visual entries. Written work should be no longer than 500 words. Written work can be in the form of news/ feature article or as a poem/ essay or personal testimonial. Visual work can be in the form of paintings or photographs. Entries must have some relevance to the themes of Show Racism the Red Card DVD such as racism and diversity.

The teacher must register your class, by following the link on our website, before entry.  Remember award categories are for year forms not art forms! For art work, we advise that you take a digital photo of the art work and send that in as a jpeg file, rather than scanning image.

You must supply the following information with each entry: name of pupil, class, school name and title of work and the number of pupils who participated in the class which showed the DVD.
